Talk:Continuous Distributions: normal and exponential
From ControlsWiki
- Good connection to previous classes in ChE 342
- note that the Fish example in the expoential distribution is actually a Poisson distribution which is a discrete analog of the exponential distribution (e.g. countable number of fish in an area vs time between phone calls used in the wiki example)
- Sages corner for therapeutic insulin production: is this made in bacteria or yeast? Half way through the presentation there seems to be a shift..
- For the reactor cleaning sage's corner, there is a table that lists time to failure. What is failure here? The probability plot looks more like the fraction of fouled catalyst vs the probability of failure. It depends on what "failure" is defined as, but this could use some clarification.
