Stiffness

Stiffness is the ratio of the relative change between two points in a function. Relative stiffness is the ratio between the highest and lowest rates of a function:

Stiffness = \frac {k_{fast}}{k_{slow}}

In general stiff systems have a relative stiffness ratio greater than 500.
